Couple of laps from PCCF at Magny Cours during testing. A very technical and difficult circuit and not the easiest to figure out. Am used to having references. I don't think I did the T6 hairpin right a single time. It really is music 🤩. How accurately does the video reflect what you actually hear when driving? It's obviously impossible to compare the volume - but in terms of the actual quality, how does it compare? I've heard some videos with a much more "buzz saw" like engine sound, and others with terribly distorted gear whine. I doubt I'll ever get the chance to find out for myself, so I hope you can enlighten us. Thanks for the awesome video!
In the actual car, we have the radio ear buds, the balaclava, and the helmet on, so there is a lot of "stuff" between your ears and the car. So in a way the sound on the video is "clearer", to the extent that I noticed it and was watching with my headphones on while uploading.

iRacing is pretty good I have to say, the laptimes are close. On the Sim the top speed is a little lower than irl, and the Porsche curves are easier on the sim, irl it is much more challenging and very easy to lose the car. What else - visibility irl is worse, bumps you feel more. But without a doubt, La Sarthe is an exceptional and legendary circuit that I consider myself privileged to have raced at

Great driving as always ! What are the mains differents with the 992 cup car ?
The two cars are entirely different. The gt3 is a full on aero car. This lap was a 1,48.0 which is 3s faster than I've ever driven in a cup. The only similarities I would say are how the engine behaves but that's it

How different is this to the 991.2 GT3R which you drove at Barcelona? Great to see you in a GT3!
The 992 feels like a better chassis and more driveable. Performance you never know because gt3 is all bop. I need to get a proper resin seat made because I'm moving around too much and thats costing me a lot

Please, someone explain me why he is not using full brake pressure at the moment he start braking?
There is no such thing as "full" brake pressure. In a 992 cup car, the initial peak on the front axle braking in a straight line, such as for T1 at monza, is 70-80bar depending on track conditions, tire and brake condition, and driver skill. In a GT3R it would be 120 bar. A F1 car would be even more. So the red bar you see on the video is just a visual representation of the brake application set on an arbitrary scale. I would imagine the peak is 100bar on this scale, which would be impossible to reach in a cup car without completely locking all 4 tires

@you.got.gapped.racing44 no, this is an IAME 125. The KZ has a bit more power and is supposed to be a better chassis. I also weigh 97kg fully kitted. I think in the KZ I'd be in the 55s in a quali run

Whats the display on your left?
Le mans has this system called RaceFlag to communicate with us. So that lap for example was deleted for track limits (not sure where 🤣🤐) and I got a notification on the display telling me

Nice laps mate, enjoyed it. The T3 (the fast 4th gear long right hander) seems particularly tasty , with some nice lateral slips going on ....right on edge of rotation.
The way the gearbox stutters under braking in 1st gear is just 🤤 Never gets old

@@florian_montuzet no, because we have to brake for the last corner so the exit speed is the same. Tire degradation is bad in Barcelona when the track temp is above 35, regardless of layout

that chicane drives me nuts in the sim, but man does it feel amazing when you get that whole little complex right. Have you gotten a chance to drive the new GT3 R?
Not yet but heard great things. But one thing that irritates me about gt3 is that the cars aren't getting faster. Check out spa superpole for last 6 years, filter out wet sessions. Its more or less the same pace, but costs have doubled ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nice lap! Out of curiosity, why aren't you braking up to 100% for the hairpins?
Its just the scale visualisation. I'm braking as much as I can. There is no 100% really. Some onboard will show 100% even if its less pressure. Just depends on the calibration

I have not tried it. Rudy is a high level pro for that kind of thing, am sure its amazing

How come you redline in 5th?
It is easier to brake in 5th. The time gain going to 6th is minimal and its very easy to lock the inside left tire. In the race and in battle with other cars I went to 6th, esp in the draft.

Race cars have a minimum throttle at idle, like 8% i think, to keep them from switching off. Road cars have idlers

@@RB26N no its never a good idea to trail throttle like that. But it can happen now and then, shows up in data immediately and engineer yells at you. The opposite is true too, drivers who don't realize their foot is on the brake while they are at full throttle down the straight

Reaction time but more so how you release the clutch. That's key.

hi. i have a question. the throttle input is always on. also when you are in the brake or neutral fase. this is because the preload is to low for this car and this is not possible to change?
Its the throttle body setting for the idle. Car needs few % so that it doesn't switch off. I am completely off in this case

Dumbfounded as to why F1 isn't going here! I get the spectacle aspect of Yas Marina but why not add this one and make a UAE doubleheader. This for the purists and Abu Dhabi for the spectacle.
How is the 992 to drive compared to the 991's? Seems a lot less bouncy and a little more compliant now.
Circuit is really smooth but yes, 992 is definitely more stable than 991. Also this car has no ABS so that requires a different driving method
